I'd have to say that the hoard of notes that I got from New Brunswick back in 2021 was the best find.  23 x 1954 $1000 notes plus multicolours, birds, 1937s...it was all there.

Hunting for silver and pennies is a byproduct of hunting for notes.  If a bank has no paper money for me, then I will ask for rolled coins to search.  I do this as a way to wind down before I go to sleep.  Some people read books or do crossword puzzles but I hunt coins.   

Hunting for treasure at the bank is addictive; you never know what the next day might bring...

November 17th finds:
More silver!

I grabbed some more coins from one of my banks yesterday.
I was pleased to find $1.90 in US coins, some nickel alloy nickels, a 1961 12 sided coin and a coin from Russia.
Best of all, there was a silver dime from 1965 in there too!

November 19th finds:

Today, I went to one of my banks and the teller gave me some notes; mostly 1954.
The highlight was the V/G $2 note.
I took the liberty of getting some coin rolls.
I noticed two shrink wrapped rolls of 1999 quarters.

November 19th coin hunting update:
More silver!

The coins I brought home today were surprisingly productive.

I managed to get 80 US cents, a coin from the Philippines, a proof 1982 quarter with cameo, a nice 1983 business strike, which seem to be hard to find, a 1973 mountie quarter and best of all, a nicely toned 1967 silver dime!

November 27th finds:
A great day at the bank!

I went to two banks on my way home today.
The first bank gave me 2 rolls plus 50 loose pennies.

The second bank gave me some paper money, including a journey $20 EUE replacement note!

While I was there, I also asked for some coins.  The teller gave me 17 rolls of pennies and I decided to buy $100 in dime rolls.

Well, I was not expecting much to come out of the dimes, other than the usual share of US coins.  What I got was absolutely amazing…

Not one, but two silver dimes, one dated 1958 and the other dated 1914!

I poured out the roll and immediately saw something different; I took a photo before I removed the coin.  I thought it was a Swiss 1\2 Franc—I have found plenty of those over the years.  But soon, I realized what was actually sitting in front of me.   

This is the second oldest Canadian coin I have ever found in the wild, the other being a 1910 dime I found a while ago.

This is amazing to find a 1914 dime, I just checked various pricing guides, this is worth a minimum of $40 in the condition of the picture, I hate to say it that the casino did pay out today.

Keep on searching the coins in Toronto as it is a big city and people do not realize what they have when they start to spend it.

Really great find especially in that condition. Many years ago i found in change an 1896 dime but very poor grade.

Nov 28th finds:
Yesterday, I picked up a few notes from one of my banks.
It was interesting to see a large number of 2017 polymer $10s in the cull pile.
I saved 4 commemorative $10s that I will spend in order to extend their lives.  Can anybody confirm that there is an order to withdraw the commemorative $10s from circulation?

While I was at it, I grabbed a few coin rolls.
Nothing much in these rolls aside from a 1970 quarter, a nice 1978 dime, a really shiny 2007 Olympic quarter and a really nice 1967 US dime.

First they removed the remaining MacDonald $10 in circulation and now they're doing this to the Canada $150 banknotes? My guess is that it lasted for a long time that they started to remove the previous series so the newest Desmond notes can release in circulation. I wonder if the bank of Canada is instructing all of the banks to pull out old $10 polymer series so only the vertical $10 is left (maybe it explains why some Wiklins-Macklem vertical $10 prefixes are in circulation now uncirculated).

December 3rd finds:

I went to one of my banks and the nice teller offered me a single ratty old birds $2.
I took the opportunity to grab some coins and I’m glad I did!

Normally, I like finding pennies…but not in a dime roll!

But things turned around…

Aside from $2.55 in US coins, I got a nicer 1990 dated quarter and a 1939 dated dime that was bent and nearly worn flat.

I love it when people shove mutilated silver coins into the rolls to “get rid of them”.
The person probably saw that the coin was damaged and threw it into the roll without thinking about the metal value of it.

I get a lot of coin rolls with metal detection finds in them and sometimes the person puts in a silver coin or two along with rusted corroded modern plated coins because they are dirty or worn.

December 5th finds:

I picked up some dime and quarter rolls from two banks today.  They didn’t have any paper money so I was hoping to find some good coins.

There was a surprising amount of US coinage including one roll containing $4.80 in US dimes, but no silver.

Some of the rolls were overstuffed and I ended up getting $5.70 in extra Canadian dimes!

I guess finding that extra change made up for the lack of silver.  Either way, I’ll take it!
